HISTORY: The Dusty Chords Jazz Band was organized as a trio by Steve F. Russell (Trumpet and Leader) in April of 2009. Members were Linda Poore (Piano), John Basart (Drums) and Steve Russell.
In the fall of 2009, the band was reorganized so a variable number of musicians could be used, as each gig demanded. During that period, we were sometimes joined by Mark Forbis (Piano), Jean Olson (Bass), Sharon Brewer (Reeds, Flute), Steve Hurst (Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Ukelele), Dave Stephenson (Trumpet), Dick Fawcett (Tenor), and Lisa Merritt (Vocals, Violin).
The band was reorganized again in March, 2011 to create the quartet of Lisa Merritt, Mark Forbis, Steve Hurst, and Steve F. Russell. The band remained a quartet until it was disbanded in 2014.

SETTING: Jam sessions and practice sessions. There are no studio recordings in this list. Most of the time we were just fooling around. We played from lead sheets, but sometimes from a score. Our drummer, John, and bass, Jean, never used music. We added as much improv as appropriate.
